Merino Reversible Vest
Merino Wool / Technical Shell
Customer fit
- Runs small
- True to size
- Runs big
Description
Two vests in one. Turn it one way for a wind and water resistant technical shell in light beige. Turn it the other for soft taupe merino wool jersey. Same garment, same fit, two completely different pieces depending on the weather and where you're going.
Both faces are finished as outer faces, so there is no lining and nothing to give it away. The funnel collar, the welt pockets and the elasticated hem all read clean from either side, and the two-way zipper runs top and bottom so you can open it at the hem when you sit down.
- Fully reversible: technical shell one side, merino wool jersey the other, both finished as the outer face
- Wind and water resistant shell: densely woven matte polyester that blocks weather without any plastic sheen
- Merino wool face: soft, matte, breathable, and naturally odour resistant
- Two-way zipper: silver metal, sliders at the collar and the hem so it opens from either end
- Welt pockets on both faces: usable whichever way round you wear it
- Elasticated collar, hem and armholes: holds its shape and sits close, no flapping
- Layers under anything: sleeveless, so it goes under a jacket without bulk at the arm
Available sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL

Care
Air it first. Merino clears odour on its own, so hanging a garment overnight usually does the work a wash would. Most pieces need washing a fraction as often as cotton.
When it does need washing, use the wool cycle at 30°C or cooler with a detergent made for wool. No bleach. No fabric softener, it coats the fibre and takes the odour resistance with it.
Never tumble dry, the heat and agitation felt the fibre and it does not come back. Do not wring. Press the water out, reshape while damp and dry flat, away from direct sun and radiators.
Fold knitwear rather than hanging it, a hanger stretches the shoulders over time. Store it clean, moths are drawn to worn wool rather than washed wool.
A little pilling on a new knit is normal and stops after the first few wears. Take it off with a wool comb or a fabric shaver rather than pulling it.

- Wears for days
- Warm and cool
- Dries overnight
- Sheds its creases

One fibre. Fewer clothes.
- Merino resists odour on its own, so a shirt goes days between wears without a wash.
- The fibre regulates to your body rather than the forecast, so one weight covers more weather.
- It moves moisture as vapour before it turns into sweat, so it dries quickly and never clings.
- 17.5 micron, finer than a human hair, which is why it sits against skin without prickle.
- It packs down small and drops its creases overnight on a hanger.

Where the wool comes from
- Our fibre is grown in Australia, where around eighty percent of the world's finest apparel wool comes from. Generations of breeding for fineness rather than volume is the reason, and no other country has caught up.
- We buy at 17.5 micron. Finer wool costs more per kilo and there is no way around that, which is why a lot of what gets sold as fine merino sits nearer nineteen.
- Spun and finished in Italy, in mills that have worked fine wool for longer than most countries have made clothing.
- Cut and made in Italy, in the same small number of factories every season.
- We make one range and repeat it. No drops, no seasonal colours, nothing you cannot replace in a year.

I love Bello Merino and have a few items. So soft, warm and cooling at the same time. Thank you very much.
Chris Lindqvist -
I don't really have specifics. I enjoy the quality of the product, and purchasing is smooth.
Daniel Okafor -
I love the trousers that I got, and I wear them every time I go out. They look great, are very comfortable, and they don't get stinky, which means I can go longer without looking for a laundromat.
Ben Hartley Merino Trousers -
I ran into a problem with my original order but customer service went above and beyond to make it right. The replacement item is perfect.
Anthony Rivera -
Great quality, soft merino. The tall sizes are what really does it for me.
